onion

I don't even know where to start. Can we even consider onions to be vegetables? I would say so. But that is just me. What about the other guy? Do onions deserve that high a ranking? Then again, they are very polyvalent. You can pretty much use them anywhere! But the benefits of their integration are relative, due in part to the amount of work one has to put in in order to make the onion experience "edible", plus a fun one at that. It is not the time to make crudités in julienne. I would instead suggest a caramelizing period. This makes us realize that onions are needy in terms of energy. Their processing foots your gas and electricity bill! But oh well. When done adequately they make for an amazing component. Beautiful confits and soups and stews and what not. But those gigawatts... you have to think about those gigawatts.
